dear yotam, please dont speak on my behalf and dont apologize for me... i stand behind everything that i said and if you have somthing to say than say it, dont use my words...

you all must understand, for me whan an artist, and it doesnt metter how telented and successful he is, decide to leave the ways of art, decide to stop express himself throw art, and to become a pathetic Politician its really sad...

cat power could use all her giftted talent to expres any idea she want, she could go up on stage with a t-shirt said "stop occupation" or what ever...
she couls use this trip to israel to go visit wounded children in the hospital or the children of sderot, she could really make this show a meaningful event
but no, she decide to use the most racist pathetic lowest politics way possible....

I agree with you Elad, That Cat Power dealt with the dilemma of coming to Israel in a very silly way as I also wrote in the letter below. I t is very frustrating to see so many good artists cancelling their show, but she even took it one step forward by doing this completely thoughtlessly.
How I wish she would read some of what's going on here.

I would like to apologize for Elad's comment. We have enough negativity anywhere.. But I can relate to his frustration. Like I already said, cancelling doesn't make any positive change.

an open letter to chan marshall - cat power
i just heard you decided to cancel your show in tel aviv tonight...
you are a miserable and pathetic Politician, i like your music alot but i swear i will never ever going to see you preforme live! you lost my ticket and im sure many more,
even for free i will never attend your show

you are a racist poor women.

why you have to mix your show and telent with bullshit politics?

do you have any idea what kind of horrible war crimes yor own country are responsible to? have you ever been to iraq?
so how come you still performe in the us and Britain?

because you are hippocret and you are recist and nothing more to it.

i really wish you the worst and its too bad cause i really enjoy your music until this morning.

    Hate By Cat-Power:
Anyone can tell you there's no more road to ride
Everyone will tell you there's no place to hide
There's no laws or rules to unchain your life
But the ones who didn't make it
The ones who couldn't take it
So glad they have made it out alive

Everyone loves the fun everyone comes by
In the wind I crunch I want to die
    They can give me pills
Or let me drink my fill
The heart wants to explode far away
    Where nobody knows

Do you believe she said that

    Half of it is innocent
    The other half is wise
The whole damn thing makes no sense
I wish I could tell you a lie

Dear Cat Power, I was terribly upset to read about your soul confusion. My name is Lotem and I am an Israeli female, who was waiting forward to hear your concert on Sunday in Tel Aviv. I am a left wing activist, who is struggling every day of my life to live my life in this crazy land of Israel. You have no idea what it means being a neither Palestinian nor Israeli in these days. I am not going to try and describe this to you. Me and my friends, both Arab and Jewish, are human beings just like everybody else, and when life is hard the best things are art and music, through which one can both escape a little but also express its longing for peace and co-existence. Your decision to not come to Israel is both coward and silly. Instead of coming and expressing what could have been protest, you decided to run away. Instead of facing the people of Israel and tell them what you think, or even act as a real activist (for example, change the location of your concert to a bi-national area), you simply chose the easy way of ignoring. This letter could have been much longer. I could have sent you names of artists who have dealt with the same question in a much more sophisticated way, but maybe you should do some research yourself before making decisions as such. I am deeply disappointed from your decision and from the way you chose to state on it with such empty words. I hope with all my heart you read this letter and that it would urge you to check yourself. Yours, Lotem

I agree with every word you said. There is no way for international artists to know the truth or make even the smallest change unless they come here and check out the complicated reality we live in. Unfortunally many artists like cat power, who I really appreciated (at least untill this morning) choose to make  a statement by not dealing with the morally complicated issues that surrounds us every day. It's really easy to be judgemental by watching the news overseas, but the truth is harder to understand.

So you cancelled the concert in Israel, didn't change a thing. unfortunally. Not doubt things are complicated around here but you chose the easy way out. How about having one concert in Tel-Aviv and one in Ramalla? Or giving out tickets for palesteniens or israeli arabs?? It could defenitely contribute more for  Coexistence around here.  99% of your fans in Israel want to have Peace and quiet and justice for all. And now we are just disappointed, didn't do no good. Cancelling the show is the easy way for not making a stand. Two days before the show?? it's insulting..
I wish you'll have a good time singing in beautiful places in the Europe and the U.S. It's probably easier for you..

Thank you Yotam. I think it is much more than insulting. in is a running away without saying nothing really.

    PLEASE VOTE!

I´m taking part in a Song-Contest by ROLLING STONE and CITROEN and I would be very happy if you would vote for me!
The idea was to reinterpret a popular piece of classical music, in my case "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" from the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg

You can see a short Making-Of on YOUTUBE here:
