See you there .... .... .. .... .. ....About For Sleeping or Jumping .... .."For Sleeping or Jumping" is based off a story about the great depression - basically when people would ask for a hotel room, the clerk would ask "For Sleeping or Jumping?" the reason they would ask this is because if they were going to kill themselves - they would put them on the higher floors... ..The idea behind the musicality of For Sleeping or Jumping, is basically to make music that is both heavy - and listenable. How the band tries to approach this is by using rhythms that are usually more typical of what is found in the “math metal” genre (Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch), and applying chords that some might call more "pleasing" to listen to. Don’t be fooled into thinking the band sugar coats the music in any way though – the music is still very heavy, the only difference is that if you are plowed by a train of complex rhythms and dissonance, the music will soon evolve into something more pleasing in a tonal sense. .. ..The reason For Sleeping or Jumping sets itself apart from other bands is that while there are technically four members in the band, the band constantly features piano players, saxophone players, singers, you name it. For Sleeping or Jumping is not just a band - it is a collaboration. On their self titled debut EP they feature two very talented artist. Jenny Tuite of The Dirty Dishes (www.myspace.com/dirtydishesmusic), and Abe Kimball of Vending Machetes (www.myspace.com/vendingmachetes). About For Sleeping or Jumping
