Bio
Over the years, as if a movie soundtrack was winding its way into memory, Lowell Evans's musical talent was peaking since the age of five years old. What started out as listening to old records and singing along to them, developed into playing drums and piano keyboard.Web Toolbar by Wibiya Since the age of eleven he always had a pair of drumsticks which were used on his pillow and too big for his ability to grasp, yet remainded diligent to the art of practicing. From the encouragement of his mother and grandfather's over all talent for music, they influenced him to continue with his musical endeavor. He used to sing in bed and whistle little tunes inside from his thinking, which sprang song creativity. Lowell began playing snare in beginner band and throughout high school as well. He also played in the jazz band in college. An old casio keyboard his grandparents gave him became an escape to further horizons of added experience. At sixteen he began writing musical compositions into his memory bank of his keyboard. The same year he received an old Slingerland 5-piece drumset from his parents as a gift for Christmas. He would lock away himself and channel everything he knew into his playing from tape or radio; anything that would play through his radio speakers. Eventually, Lowell found friends that like himself, were eager to join a band. He played in clubs all over Memphis, TN and was even in a few drumming competitions in town. Music would inevitably create words and words became his vision to his music as poetry. Lowell wrote poetry in 2001 as lyrics at first. Then found his stanzas in 2004 and wrote 600+ poems. -
