The first things you notice are the voice and the space. That voice belongs to Nathaniel Rateliff, a man who’s earned the twang and hard-knock weariness that shines through on his Rounder debut. The space comes courtesy of producer Brian Deck (Califone, Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse), who helped transform 8-track bedroom demos into miniature epics of contrast, beauty, and yearning. In Memory of Loss is a stunning, heartbreaking sonic document from a singer-songwriter who’s made his way from a childhood in Bay, Missouri (pop. 60) to the national stage. -

Hi, Im fairly certain you do not know me what so ever, but, I attended the concert at the Saltair in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 22 2012 and you played a song that Im not sure of the name but was by far my favorite song out of the many that i loved of yours. The main lyric i can remember from it was "Don't Come Any closer...." I would love to find this song that has a better quality then the youtupe live songs that are scratchy. Thank you for making amazing music! Sincerely a new fan!

The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973.
At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping.
To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music.
It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time.
After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records.
With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.
Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio K?ln and Radio 7.
For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.
The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at K?lner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.
