I’ve never seen a Resident Evil movie, but the longer this series goes on, the more fun it’s starting to look. What began as an unassuming video game movie has evolved into a surprisingly long-running franchise with the same creative team (Paul W.S. Anderson) and star (his wife, Milla Jovovich) on board for every entry, and the series beat the current zombie craze by a solid few years. ComicBookMovie points us to some newly-discovered promotional material for the newest film Resident Evil: Retribution, including a bunch of banners and posters for the movie. Some of them aren’t the best quality, but a few are pretty spectacular and even if this whole thing just turns out to be a bunch of fan art, it’s still worth checking out for fans of the series.

That last one is easily my favorite. I love shots like that, with one person facing off against an oncoming horde. (How does she escape? How?!) Resident Evil: Retribution comes to theaters on September 14th, 2012.

Synopsis: The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
