Arnold Schwarzenegger has long been known for his role in action movies, and while being governor of California slowed him down for a while, he’s back in action (pun intended) almost like he never left. David Ayer, who is best known for his writing on “The Fast and The Furious” (2001) and “Training Day” (2001), is the director on “End of Watch,” which is set to hit theaters in September. So what do these two have in common? Open Road has acquired the rights to “Ten,” an action film that will star Schwarzenegger and be directed by Ayer.
The story line goes something like this … an elite DEA task force executes a tactical raid on a dangerous drug cartel safe house. It’s all a ruse, because the DEA squad is stealing the merchandise and cashing in. They think they’ve gotten away with it, until members of their team start getting killed off. Sounds like a great plot, no?

The script was written by Skip Woods (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” (2009) and “The A-Team” (2010)). Funding for the film is coming from QED International, which is also backing “Black Sands,” which will feature Schwarzenegger as a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest.

So what do you think? Will Ayer and Schwarzenegger make a good match? Looks like QED International thinks so.
